Well, I have two very important treasures to tell you about today. They both happened on our morning walk.
My brother let me set the course, so after heading north from The Wharf, I took us up to Independence Avenue. When we got to the Department of Energy, I saw Treasure Number One in the crosswalk:
You Deserve a Break Today
A whole box of French fries! Just sitting there waiting for me!
Now, here’s where my brother got a treasure. As we were walking by the Department of Agriculture, I went over to sniff something, which turned out to be just green paper. As my brother came over to look, I think he was more excited about the green paper than I was about the red box of French fries. It was $62!
My brother thought we should leave it because maybe someone had just dropped it and would come back looking for it. So, we continued on our walk. When we headed back later, the $62 was still there. That’s when my brother took it as a sign!
On the Pier
Today is the Feast of the Wholly Innocents. My brother wasn’t going to tell me the story because it was too sad, but I reminded him that I had already seen that Tiger show last spring when we were all having our Quarantinis. Wow, it is a sad story! The Bible story, I mean, although the Tiger show is a different kind of sad.
One thing I’ve learned: I think the Bible is a love story most of all, but along the way, it has every kind of story you can think of – funny, sad, poems, dreams, everything under the sun. I’m looking forward to hearing more Bible stories. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that Carole Baskin is in the Bible!
